About David Edwards
Sacred Call is blessed to have two different gentlemen singing the bass part for the group; David Edwards and Steve Rose. Since David Edwards is a Minister of Music actively involved in ministry in his church, we knew this would definitely be challenging in terms our being able to consistently sing as a mixed quartet, particularly on Sunday mornings and made even more challenging when we were ministering outside of Oklahoma. As we were forming the group back in March, 2021, our good friend Steve Rose indicated his interest and availability to sing with us and/or serve as our sound technician. Prayers answered, concerns relieved - what a blessing! We are so thankful for the servant’s heart each of these gentlemen possess and their willingness to be part of the ministry of Sacred Call.
As the son of a music minister and the grandson of a Southern Baptist preacher, southern gospel music has always been a part of Dave’s life. Growing up, he would spin those old vinyl records of all the gospel greats and sing right along with them. It was always his vision to sing in a gospel quartet; just a part of the dreams and desires God placed within his heart at a very young age. Dave has been active in the music ministry since his teenage years and has sung with many different church groups as well as a family group called By His Grace Quartet. As a full-time minister of music, Dave has worked with many lay renewals, revivals, outreaches, jail ministries and churches. He is currently serving as a full-time worship leader and Associate Pastor at Exciting Southeast Baptist Church in Pryor, OK. David’s favorite scripture verse is found in Isaiah 41:9-10 where it says, “You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
